IT ALL STARTED WITH ONE SPECIAL GIRL…
Some things begin on their own without a conscious decision or choice. Fate makes paths cross and a path is started. That is the case with Lily’s Pad Rescue. On February 6, 2015 Mama and DaddyPad (then known just as Rachel and Ken) adopted Lilypad. Her name prior to that day was LuLu. Lil was a 15 week old English Bulldog with Spina Bifida and as a result she was fully incontinent and had to wear diapers inside. The space she snuggled into in Rachel and Ken’s hearts opened the door to many more to come and the birth of Lily’s Pad Rescue.

Q & A
A few common questions we are getting, answered here for clarity:
Is he in pain?
No. He is comfortable, mobile, eating well, sleeping deeply, and very content at home.
Does he have neurological issues?
We don't see any obvious signs of neurological deficits. His mobility is good, and he moves normally.
Will he always need a diaper?
We do not yet know the root cause of his incontinence, and it is possible that long-term management, including a diaper, may be part of his care.
Is the diaper bothering him?
Not at all. He is unbothered by it and continues to relax, sleep, and enjoy his day.
Is he good with other dogs, cats, kids?
He has been very appropriate and dog-friendly so far. Not sure on cats but did great with kids as part of his transport journey.
Is he young or older?
He is young, but still early in decompression. We expect more of his playful side to emerge as he continues to feel safe.
New Princess Alert with a fashionable ear!! Meet Freya
Waiting to be being spayed
This is Freya... a tiny warrior with a huge will to heal.
But here’s the beautiful part: Freya is finally safe. She’s in a loving foster home where her foster mom is working tirelessly to heal her skin and give her the comfort she’s been missing for far too long. And she’s already found a best friend in Luna, another Lily’s Pad alum who seems to understand exactly what Freya needs. I want to remind our team, fostering truly saves lives. Freya's foster mom is her savior. Not me. I could not have said Yes if she didn't step up for her. I am just the vessel to bring this all together. But it truly is the foster parents who make the real sacrifice for these kiddos. So please consider that in deciding if you'd like to foster. You get to be a hero for real!
Freya is gentle, resilient, and so ready for her second chance. If you feel moved to support her healing — whether by sharing her story, donating toward her medical care, or simply sending love her way — it truly makes a difference.
This little girl has survived so much. Now she finally gets to move toward the life she deserves
New Stud Alert
Meet one of our newest foster boys, FALKOR
This sweet, fluffy Frenchie landed in foster care and is still decompressing after a lot of recent change. Right now, he is calm, gentle, and settling in beautifully. He sleeps hard, relaxes easily, enjoys a good chew toy, and seems happiest just being near his people. He gets along well with other dogs and has a very soft, old-soul presence.
He is still early in the process, and while his core temperament is clearly gentle and thoughtful, he is also young. As he continues to feel safer and more comfortable, we would not be surprised to see his inner youngster come out in play, curiosity, and some appropriate joyful chaos. The good news is that even as he opens up, we expect that gentle core to stay true. That part of him already feels very solid.
He does have some medical needs we are managing. He has a history of GI issues and currently has weak anal tone. We do not yet know the root cause of his incontinence, and it is possible that he may always need to wear a diaper as part of his care. Right now, he is comfortable, happy, and doing well with his routine. His mobility is good, his appetite is great, and his stool is starting to improve with a stable diet and consistency.
This is a resilient dog who needs patience, structure, and someone who appreciates a kind and gentle approach. We are excited to keep getting to know him and to share more as he continues to settle in.
OUR PROGRAMS
ADOPTION
Lily’s Pad Rescue takes in bulldogs of all kinds that are medically challenged with issues ranging from Spina Bifida (SB), Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD), Swimmer’s Syndrome to rehabilitate them (if necessary) and rehome. They are then placed with loving foster families until their forever home is found. Our ultimate goal for any of our rescues is to find them a loving and caring forever home that accepts them unconditionally. If you are interested in giving your heart to a very special pup, the first step is to complete an application. If you are not local to the dog’s foster, but you are the right family for one of these pups, then we will work with a our rescue partners to complete the home inspection and work with a transport team to get him or her to you. We would also Zoom, Skype or FaceTime with you to see your environment in real time. The only thing that may not be able to occur is the meet and greet with the pup, unless you were willing to come to us. You will have post adoption support by our Adoption Support team members.
ADOPTION PROCESS
Fall in love with one of our available dogs!!
Go to our website to fill out our online adoption application at: www.lilyspadrescue.org/adoption-form.

An adoption contract will be completed, adoption fee donated and then based on your location, your dog will be delivered to or picked up by you.

Lily’s Pad Rescue does take in owner surrender dogs. We understand that special needs dogs require extensive resources ranging from medical care, diet, all the way to the daily care required for a diapered or differently abled dog. Filling out this form does NOT guarantee that the rescue will be able to take on your dog. We are a foster based organization and only have a certain number of spaces available at any given time.

By submitting I understand that this dog will become under the ownership of Lily's Pad Rescue once he/she is in the physical custody of an LPR representative and is an irrevocable decision on my part. At the end of the surrender application, there is a mandatory additional area to indicate you have read and understand this condition.
